About the Role

Reporting to the Workshop Supervisor this position is responsible for carrying out a range of fabrication, repair and maintenance activities to customers’ forklifts.  

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

• Fabrication of steel components for material handling applications;
• Modification of forklifts and other material handling equipment;
• General fabrication and assembly of ancillary items for material handling applications;
• Repair of forklifts and other material handling equipment using metal-work techniques;

Skills and Experience:

• Relevant trade qualification;
• Strong welding competencies using MIG, TIG, Arc and Oxy-Acetylene
• Demonstrated experience in a similar fabrication or engineering role;
• Demonstrated machine-shop experience using lathes, milling machines, press-brake etc;
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings;
• Competent in the use of hand and power tools;
• Forklift licence preferred but not essential;
• Full understanding of WHS where you take pride in working safely and keeping your workstation clean;
• Sound communication skills;
• Strong ability to work as part of team;
• Strong attention to detail and ability to multi-task;
